Our Story

We’re Joe and Rachel, and we have been best friends for a million years.

Somewhere along the way we tied the knot and then proceeded to multiply into a family of six—plus three dogs (and counting).

While the kids have grown and are now beginning their own adventures, becoming teachers, joining the military, and beginning work in the ministry, we have begun shifting our own focus from our little crazy clan, out into the wider community.

Rachel is a novelist and an art teacher. Joe, after giving more than twenty-five years to Law Enforcement in the city where he grew up, has developed a passion for teaching the Word of God and weaving practical battle strategies into his ministry.

But there is still so much we feel we want to say. Specifically to the hurting, to the hungry.

Our family has a testimony. One of pain and miracles, of healing and loss. There were a lot of rough days. But through it all, God has been more than faithful, even when we weren’t able to stand—He was, and is, and will always be our Rock. God’s Love was ever-present. And powerful. He taught us the truth of Paul's statement in Ephesians: “We do not battle against flesh and blood,” in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

Battleground Faith is our way of sharing what we’ve learned with others. Through speaking the Word and growing this community, we hope to reach out and bridge a gap in people’s lives between a life of defeat and a life of abundant Victory! Through a deeper relationship with The Lamb that was slain, anyone can find freedom. Anyone. No one is beyond help or outside of God’s reach.
